LODGE BY THE LAKE

Perched high on a forested bluff, overlooking a ravine that empties gently into Lake Michigan, this residence is a response to one of the most unique property locations in Southeast Wisconsin. The property was carved out of a large estate that had originally been master planned by famed designer Jens Jenson, and boasts dynamic views in all directions. In this instance, the client was looking for us to design a home that would sit in and respond naturally to the immensely unique surroundings. As such, we incorporated stone and wood into the bold and rustic architectural forms, utilizing a slate and copper roof to allow the cozy, lodge-like residence to feel perfectly at home within the white pine forest.
