SOUTHERN CONTEMPORARY FOLK
Notable for its simple, Southern charm, this residence was designed for a site that presented a number of challenges, including wetland setbacks, three road exposures, and noise from a US Highway. The design was derived from a traditional native Nashville aesthetic, complete with a colonial inspired center entry and generous front porch. In order to serve as a buffer for the highway noise, we fashioned a service and garage wing, on the rear of which we placed a large, outdoor fireplace nestled within a two-sided courtyard that is used frequently for entertaining. Serving as a showcase home to support the Nashville Symphony, this residence has proven itself to be one of our most popular creations.
